Ka'iku'a
Ingredients
6 Corn cobs
20 milliliters of Oil
150 grams of Paraguayan cheese
1 pinch of Salt
Preparation
Step 1 : To prepare the delicious humitas, first, shuck the corn cobs and set the leaves aside.
Step 2 : Next, grind the corn kernels and mix them with well-crumbled cheese.
Step 3 : If desired, process the mixture with a little milk to achieve a creamy texture, but not too liquid.
Step 4 : Then, add salt and oil to the mixture and place a portion in the center of a corn leaf.
Step 5 : Wrap it with the help of other leaves and tie with string, making sure to secure the ends and the center so it takes on a waist-like shape.
Step 6 : Next, place the humitas in a pot with hot water and let them boil for approximately 20 minutes.
Step 7 : They can also be cooked steamed if preferred.
Step 8 : Once ready, remove and serve hot, accompanied by cheese or a sauce.
