Paraguayan Cheese Rice

Ingredients

1 onion

2 tablespoons of lard

1 ½ cups of water

1 cup of white rice

3 tablespoons of cream cheese

1 cup of milk

150 grams of Paraguayan cheese

Preparation

Step 1 : To prepare the cheese rice, first chop the onion into small cubes.

Step 2 : Then, melt the lard in a saucepan and sauté the onions until they become crystalized.

Step 3 : Next, add the water and let it come to a boil.

Step 4 : Meanwhile, wash the rice under running water until it runs clear.

Step 5 : Once the water is boiling, add the rice to the saucepan with the onion and cook on low heat, checking every 3 minutes to prevent sticking.

Step 6 : Meanwhile, heat the milk and add it gradually to the rice once the water has evaporated.

Step 7 : Cook for approximately 10 minutes, then remove from heat.

Step 8 : Later, add the cubed cheeses, mix everything, and let rest for 5 minutes.

Step 9 : Finally, serve the cheese rice and enjoy this delicious dish.
