The term soyo is a shortening of so'o josopy, a Guarani word composed of two parts: so'o, meaning 'meat,' and josopy, which is an abbreviation of josopyre and means 'crushed.'

Ingredients

½ kilogram of Ground beef

1 White onion

1 Green onion

½ Green bell pepper without seeds

3 Plum tomatoes

1 Carrot

Oregano

1 Clove of garlic

1 Bay leaf

3 tablespoons of Vegetable oil

1 pinch of Salt

1 pinch of Pepper

1 pinch of Cumin

Preparation

Step 1 : To prepare this dish, start by washing and cleaning the meat, removing any fat, and then chopping it finely.

Step 2 : Next, dice the bell pepper, carrot, and onion into small cubes (brunoise), and mince the garlic.

Step 3 : Cut the tomatoes in half and grate them.

Step 4 : In a pot preheated, add some oil and sauté the prepared vegetables from the previous step.

Step 5 : Add salt, pepper, cumin, tomatoes, carrot, bay leaf, and oregano.

Step 6 : Then, add the meat and stir, bringing the mixture to a boil.

Step 7 : Add water according to the desired consistency and adjust the seasoning as needed.

Step 8 : Once it's ready, serve hot and garnish with green onion.
